Standard Life Investments announces new Head of Global Equities

Standard Life Investments, the global fund manager, is pleased to announce that Mikhail Zverev has been appointed Head of Global Equities.
Mikhail, a Silver rated manager by S&P Capital IQ, has managed Standard Life Investments’ Global Equity Unconstrained Fund since July 2010. The Fund has outperformed its peers, delivering top quartile performance over one, two and three years*. Mikhail will report directly to David Cumming, Head of Equities at Standard Life Investments.
Commenting on the appointment, David Cumming, Head of Equities, Standard Life Investments, said:
"We are delighted to announce Mikhail’s promotion to Head of Global Equities. Since Mikhail joined Standard Life Investments in 2007 he has proved himself as an excellent fund manager and investor, as well as building a strong individual performance track record in managing global equities.
"His appointment will ensure continuity and stability in terms of the delivery of our investment process and superior investment performance. I am confident that he will provide effective leadership for the global equity team."
Mikhail has 14 years’ experience in the industry and has been with Standard Life Investments since 2007. Mikhail has a BSc in Physics from St Petersburg State Technical University and an MSc in Accounting & Finance from the London School of Economics. He is a CFA charterholder. Prior to joining Standard Life Investments, Mikhail worked for First State Investments, Schroder Salomon Smith Barney (Citigroup) and Trigon Capital.
Standard Life Investments’ Global Equity Team, based in Edinburgh and Boston, is at the centre of an extensive, global stock research team, covering North America, Europe, the UK and Emerging Markets. This comprises over 60 highly experienced equity investors, and ensures in-depth, proprietary coverage of a very large stock universe. The Team gain further insights from the in-house Corporate Bond Team, Global Real Estate Team and Strategy Team, as well as from Standard Life Investments’ strategic alliance with Japanese fund manager Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank.
Standard Life investments recently announced that Wesley McCoy has rejoined the company as an Investment Director in the Global Equities Team. While at Standard Life Investments Wesley was a UK retail and institutional high alpha manager and was appointed fund manager for the UK Equity Unconstrained Fund, when it was launched in 2005.
